2014

October 12, 2014

We started preparation early this year– in June 2013, and the number of students was higher than we expected – more than fifty students asked us for application. Nol van Tiem with his wife Netty suddenly appeared in Litomerice in October 2013. Because of his last year at school (he will retire) he decided to travel to places which he had such a lot of impressions of – Dresden, Litomerice, Prague… sightseeing of the town, a trip to its surroundings, a visit in our school and a very pleasant evening in a favourite pizzeria belonged to the moments to remember. Everybody who could took part in meeting Nol and his wife.

The large number of students got lowered meanwhile however 54 those who stayed enlisted started their travelling to an unknown country. H. Golová, J. Putnarová and V. Švihlík accompanied the group this year. Despite we went at the end of March (30th March) the weather was perfect – sunny, no wind (!!!!), 20°C temperature, shortly said – just ideal weather. Moreover a proved program, exciting for our students. The capital of the province of Noord Brabant – s´Hertogenbosch with a wonderful St. John´s Cathedral, mills in the Kinderdijk enlisted in UNESCO list, den Haag with Madurodam, governmental part, circled picture of Panorama Mesdag and beautiful beach in Scheveningen, Willemstad fortress town as in a fairytale, huge and important Delta works in Neeltje-Jans. Seals in the sea, Amsterdam and Rijksmuseum after long lasting reconstruction in marvelous „condition“ ready for tourists with all its treasures including famous Night Watch, canals, bridges and incredibly colourful exhibitions of tulips and others in Keukenhof; cycling, cheeses, hospitability in families… So we had a lot of return back!

Well, a week later, our students and their parents expected the Dutch bus in front of our school labeled with a Dutch flag. Our programme in Czechia was also full of highlights – Bohemian Paradise, Skoda Auto Museum and factory, Ústí nad Labem and Chateau Ploskovice, Terezín, glass factory in Nižbor, Great city of Prague and its sights, Black theatre, Brewery Labuť and, of course, our school and lessons of different subjects, sport activities, dinner in the families…We hope both Dutch and Czech students will remember many moments forever.

Good bye next Year again!!!
